How to Wear Bright Colors for the Spring

Friday, March 18, 2016 Emily Ehardt Blog

Hello everyone! I hope you have had a great week so far. To conclude your week and start your weekend off right, I am posting styling tips on how to add bright colors to your look for the spring. While bright colors are synonymous with the spring season, a lot of people do not know how to style them, so they turn back to their traditional black and grey attire. However, it is not difficult to incorporate these colors into your wardrobe with my styling tips below:

1. Find pieces that are classic shapes, but come in bright colors. For example, the blouse above is a classic button up style, but is in a modern print with bold colors.

2. Bright colors can be used to accent an entire look. For example, use a bold color purse, such as a pink, with an all black outfit.

3. Pair bold colors with one another. Wear a hot pink blouse with a pair of bright orange pants, which compliment, rather than compete with each other because they are within the same tones. You can do this with a variety of combinations including jewel tones, as well.

4. Choose the colors that look best on you or that you like the best. As for myself, I think I look best in cobalt blues, hot pinks, and emerald greens. I dislike yellows and oranges on myself. Also, try on new shades to add to your favorites list, even if they don't seem appealing at first.

5. Visit to see how you can style the above blouse into three different looks, along with more tips on styling bright colors. Also, be sure to follow Emily Ehardt Blog on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest and Half Stack Blog on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Stay Classy!
