Color Your Own New Zealand

Coloring is believed to effect the brain as meditation effects the mind. Considering these benefits Tourism New Zealand is inspiring travelers to "Color Their Journey" by introducing an adult coloring postcard series as part of the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign.

The post cards are a new and exciting way to experience New Zealand. It is a great way to tell stories of the unique culture, fjords, adventures, and welcoming people.

Tourism New Zealand has collaborated with artist and New Zealand Native, Gabby Malpas to re-create four iconic destinations using line art. The images featured include a couple exploring Cathedral Cove, Hobbiton Movie Set, Milford Sound, and Waiheke Island. When Malpas was asked about the collaboration, she stated, " I feel privileged to recreate stunning New Zealand landscapes and really encourage people to bring these to life through their own creativity. The trend of adult coloring is taking the world by storm and I love that it encourages people to get back in touch with their artistic side whilst finding calmness along the way."

I took the postcards to color with for a week to color them during my lunch break and found that coloring the postcards was a nice stress relief activity. Plus it also is a good activity to get me to take a break from playing around on my phone for a few minutes. Needless to say by coloring my own journey has really inspired a craving for wanderlust. Pictured below are a few of my beautiful coloring journeys. My medium was colored pencil since I am a lefty and tend to smug artwork.
