Latino Fashion Week Kick Off

This week is the kick off to an amazing season of fashion right here in the Windy City. Chicago's Latino Fashion Week begins this week on Wednesday Sept. 30th through October 4th and is set to be the highlight of fall fashion in Chicago. Taking place at Block 37 in the news Latin Food Hall - Latinicity. Latinicity is one of Chicago's most anticipated dining openings. Brought to you by world-renowned chef Richard Sandoval, Latinicity is a delicious twist on Latin street food. Located on the third floor of Block 37, in the epicenter of Chicago’s Loop, this multi-sensory food hall experience features 12 innovative kitchens, a tapas restaurant, coffee cafe, wine bar, fresh market and lounge — plus a culinary center with cooking classes.

Latino Fashion Week has become a mainstay in regards to fall fashion events in Chicago. Each year, the event has grown and patrons continue to look forward to weeklong event. Latino Fashion Week is the brainchild of two Chicago Latinos and Natives: Cesar Rolon and Arabel Alva Rosales. Arabel is a prominent Chicago Hispanic business leader and an entrepreneur who runs a techfirm right here in the City. She’s a mother, a tech innovator and a supporter of all women following a dream.


Cesar is the mastermind behind Imagen Marketing andBrillante Multicultural Marketing Group – consulting firms that are behind some of Chicagos most prominent multi cultural events. His ability to connect brands and people is truly exceptional. Together they Launched Latino Fashion Week 9 years ago to fill a need in the market.

LFW is the only full week and tour dedicated to Latino Fashion in the United States, showcasing top Latino designers from Central and South America, the Caribbean and the U.S. LFW is a multi-day branded entertainment environment providing opportunities for fashion designers and sponsors to come face-to-face with primary celebrities, musical talent, media and consumers. LFW also includes Model’s Night Out™, a fashionable way to raise funds and create awareness for great causes. LFW is not just a fashion show. It is a movement. “By Latinos, For Everyone.”

In its ninth year, the theme for LATINO FASHION WEEK®, “TIMELESS,” leading into a decade of elegance, celebrates the ability to create fashion that is beautiful to the eyes, stimulating to the spirit and forever imprinted on the soul. LFW™ is a showcase of all that is fashion during the 2015 Tour in the cities of Miami and our hometown Chicago. The Chicago five-day event will include runway shows, celebrity appearances, VIP receptions, Fashion Lounges and much more. Each day reaches a different target market. Chevrolet has also been named the official vehicle brand of Latino Fashion Week and will debut the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu on site during the red carpet event on Wednesday Sept. 30th.

Don’t miss the arrival of the 9th Year Anniversary for Latino Fashion Week® Chicago – Timeless. Join the LFW movement during the five-day celebration of Chicago’s fashion with a Red Carpet Media Reception. Featuring the collections of local designers: Amanda Nicole by Jessica Blair, e&e Aubé Designs, Moi Soli, Robdechi and student designers from Chicago Fashion Foundation; each of whom will present his or her most stunning styles and dynamic designs. In addition, our annual local celebrity catwalk will include familiar faces from television, radio and the social circle that support LFW and will strut the runway. A performance by Chi-Caribena Dance Troupe.

Featured designer, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada from Madrid, Spain, the representative of Spanish fashion on the main international catwalks. Performance by Ensemble Español and OMI Music’s Recording Artist, Omar Sanchez.

Latino Fashion Week and (Pro)Ject Us presents Fashion skills development workshops including Style Wars and and an AWSUM (Amazing-Wonderful-Super-Unique-Me) Workshop with motivational speakers such as Ana Dominguez, The Queen of Tape and Devin Velez, Finalist for American Idol (Season 12). A special performance by Ángel Quinceañeras and closing with an amazing Quinceañera fashion runway show by Adan Terriquez and Kohl’s.
