Halfstack Highlights Ep. 31- Fashion Loves Art Artist Feature: Rome Won

In todays episode of Halfstack Highlights we interview Chicago Artist Angel Pagan. Best known by the street artist name: Rome Won. He’s been a graffiti mural artist for over 20 years. Originally from New York, he studied at The American Academy of Art in Chicago. His work has been featured in art project underwritten by the CTA, YMCA, Verizon and Amtrak.

He has been featured in shows all over the United States. His art is vibrant and raw. He showcases work that has traditional graffiti elements mixed with a more modern take on street art. He is also one of the featured artists at this years Fashion Loves Art Event that is set to take place next Month on Sept. 6th 2015 from 6-10PM at the Moonlight Studios. I had the opportunity to talk with Angel about his work as Rome Won, his career, his artistic journey and what we can expect from him this year. We also talked about pursuing your art as your career and advice he would give young people trying to live the dream. Keep listening for the full interview.

The Fashion Loves Art event is a collaborative fashion show and art exhibit. SAStyle Studio has partnered with the Ronald McDonald House of Chicago to bring an exciting, interesting, and most importantly fun event to raise money and awareness for children in need. Never before has Chicago seen a more exciting collaborative event, with an anticipated turnout of over 400 attendees and a multitude of sponsors.

This event will combine all aspects of what truly makes a celebrity event breathtakingly unique. With a fully-loaded runway show exhibiting 7 designers, after the show event attendees can walk through the aw-inspiring graffiti exhibit and enjoy some cocktail hour beverages provided by our wonderful sponsors! During this time, all art being exhibited will be available for purchase through silent auction, and a portion of the proceeds will go directly to The Ronald McDonald House. There are also some exciting surprise VIP & celebrity guests slotted to attend!
