JCC PresenTense Chicago Launch Night: Dreams Become Reality at 1871

Thursday, June 11, 2015 Cora

At the beginning of the year we featured JCC Chicago and PresenTense Chicago as they announced their PresenTense Fellows. We saw the starting gates open for these young professionals as they started that race to change the world with their transformational ideas. The entrepreneurs’ six month journey culminates Tuesday June 16th at Launch Night held at 1871 (Merchandise Mart, 12th floor) as the thirteen Fellows present their cutting-edge ideas and show how they will impact Chicago and the world. JCC Chicago is a nonprofit organization committed to ensuring a strong and vibrant Jewish life and community for generations to come.

JCC PresenTense Chicago is a volunteer- run community of innovators and entrepreneurs who help cultivate the development of the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs. One way is through a competitive and prestigious six month fellowship to help young professionals make their dreams a reality by taking an idea and guide it through the entrepreneur process to create a sustainable business. The ventures are also transformational and socially responsible. After opening comments by 1871 CEO and serial entrepreneur, Howard Tullman, Fellows will have a minute to pitch their ventures to generate interest from prospective funders. The Fellows will then host a business booth expo to elaborate on their mission in more detail.

Audience members get to help decide who gets funded by awarding “PresenTense Dollars” to their favorite projects. Launch Night is the largest event of the year for PresenTense and the ambitious entrepreneurs. It’s an opportunity for the public or anyone curious about starting their own business to meet the next generation of movers and shakers who are on their way to being the change they want to see in the world. Launch Night is free if you register in advance. To register, go here. otherwise it is $10 at the door.
