Chama Gaucha: Rekindle Your Love Affair with Food

Readers, I have a particularly delicious treat for you today! For a persnickety eater, such as myself, raving about a restaurant is not a common occurrence, but I make an exception for a delightfully genuine steakhouse called Chama Gaucha. When I discovered that this magnificent gem of fine dining is exclusive to Texas and Chicago, I just had to share. I have had the immense pleasure of dining at Chama Gaucha  a few times over the past year, and with each visit, I am more enchanted than the last. Upon entering this authentic Brazilian steakhouse, you will be overcome with euphoria from the enticing aroma of sizzling, hand carved meats and the sight of vibrant greenery beckoning you to the salad bar. Each table has dining cards which are used to signal your servers to bring the meats. When flipped to the green side, your table will be surrounded by eager Gauchos presenting you with succulent selections of meats to be carved from metal skewers, and when the card is flipped to the red side, you are left to enjoy your meal without disturbance. However, the food is not the only luxury the guests are afforded. Each patron is assisted with the utmost attentive, accommodating, and friendly service.

By far, the service at Chama Gaucha is one of unparalleled excellence. After being escorted to your seat, a Gaucho comes to pull out your chair for you, tuck you in, and give you a plate. You may then flip the card on the table to alert the other Gauchos that you are ready to be served the meats or you can visit the salad bar. Personally, I like to begin with a salad, and when I return from fixing it, my table has already been dressed with an array of appetizers and the beverage of my choosing. After I finish my salad, the dirty plate is swiftly exchanged with a clean one, and I am ready to start again! Once you have flipped your card, you will be surrounded by Gauchos eager to serve you with the most delectable assortment of meats you can imagine. If you don’t see the cut you want, simply tell one of the Gauchos, and it will promptly be brought to your table. Now, if you’re like me, you aren’t the most graceful eater, and crumbs tend gather around your plate. That’s not a problem here! A server will come to quickly and quietly clean your table without you even noticing his presence. You never have to ask for your beverage or side dishes to be refilled. If you are running low on anything, a server will replace it immediately, and if you accidentally drop a utensil or napkin, before you’re even able to pick it up, you will be provided with a clean one. Without a doubt, any guest here will be treated like royalty with not only top notch service, but served with food of an unsurpassed caliber.

To start off with, you are given a plethora of sides you won’t find anywhere else- all literally served on silver platters. Fried Polenta dusted with Parmesan, Garlic Mashed Potatoes sprinkled with cheese and chives, crisp, fried bananas sublimely caramelized, and best of all gluten free, molten cheese rolls, Pao de Queijo. These sumptuous delights are consistently refilled throughout your meal and are never empty. Although, I have to admit my guilty pleasure would be the salad bar. It’s size alone is breath taking, but up close you will be astounded by the copious amounts of fresh vegetables, salad dressings, cured meats, and gourmet cheeses! Everything is fresh, beautifully tended, and replenished every few minutes. Of course, most don’t come solely for the salad. The main attraction is the dazzling assortment of meats rotating throughout the dining room on hand held skewers. To summon the meat to your table, you simply flip the square dining card from red to green. Each selection of meat, ranging from leg of lamb to filet mignon, is delivered right to your table. You’re asked how you like it cooked and how many slices you’d prefer, then it is carved and served onto your plate. Each mouthwatering portion is lightly salted and grilled to perfection with a clean, smokey finish that leaves you wanting more. The seasoning gives every cut a rich flavor, and the meat is tender enough to cut with a fork! To enhance your meal, I highly recommend ordering one of the fine red wines served at cellar temperature. Although, I always find myself ordering the Guarana Antarctica, which is like a Brazilian ginger ale. This bubbly concoction is sure to soothe the tummy and cleanse the palette. Once you’ve finished your meal, the best way to top it off is with a velvety dessert. My personal favorite is the Six Layer Chocolate Mousse Cake! Each layer alternates between a creamy and cloud like texture producing a smooth chocolaty decadence. Don’t take my word for it though. Go experience Chama Gaucha for yourself.

Hands down, Chama Gaucha is ultimately my favorite restaurant. If I could, I would be dining there every week! This place out classes all other restaurants. Their keen attention to detail is impeccable, the price is unbeatable, and their standards exceed all expectations. When I think of other restaurants like Outback Steakhouse or Texas Roadhouse, there is just no comparison. From the efficient team of servers and dimly lit ambiance to the fully stocked salad bar and parade of charred meats, you are guaranteed to be satisfied every time. So, whether you’re planning a casual lunch or elegant dinner, consider Chama Gaucha for your next event. I’m so hungry after writing this, I think I’ll go there right now.
