Late Night at Milk Handmade

Wednesday, December 11, 2013 Sophie Magdalena

Halfstack Magazine made it to one of the best late night events of the year in Andersonville off Clark Street.  Milk Handmade, Crafthouse and Pine & Plastic hosted one hot event on a very cold night in Chicago!

Milk Handmade is a boutique at 5137 N. Clark Street.  Owner Hallie Borden was one of the masterminds behind this event, put together to showcase the lovely products and clothing offered at her boutique, alongside designer bags by Pine & Plastic, and of course drinks were flowing courtesy of Crafthouse.

This lovely shop provides Chicago residents a single source for products from local area designers.  Offering great hats, dresses, candles, coats and more.... all products are made in Chicago.  The family run business offers you a little bit of everything with excellent customer service to boot!

Local designer and founder of Pine & Plastic, Andrew Wayne was also present to showcase his new tote-bag collection.  Andrew, a new artist on the Chicago scene, has always had a passion for designing but recently found his niche in designing totes for every day use.  We all know that accessories can 'make or break' an outfit, so Andrew decided he wanted to take the time to design a product that had a personal feeling to each individual wearing it.  Each tote is handcrafted and can be personally tailored to each customers needs.  Hand painted, Andrew also adds pockets that will perfectly hold any electronic device for the person on the go.  Casual totes with an 80's retro feel to more luxurious leather bags, Pine & Plastic has a design special for any occasion.  I, myself, purchased one as a gift.

And to set everyone at ease while shopping at the event, Milk Handmade also provided complimentary drinks provided exclusively by Crafthouse.  Crafthouse provides locally made cocktails, 100% natural, gluten free and handcrafted with simple, wholesome ingredients.  Naturally, I needed to make sure each drink was of great quality, so I tasted them all!  I'm happy to say they all passed the test!  And who doesn't love cocktails as a gift?!  With natural ingredients mixed with the highest quality in alcohol, these drinks make great stocking stuffers.

Well there you have it! Another fantastic Chicago event, a complete success!  No Chicago winters can keep us from finding the hottest spots around town.  This holiday season, make sure to check out Milk Handmade, Pine & Plastic, and Crafthouse for all of your gift-giving need!
