Check out Findables

Thursday, October 17, 2013 HALFSTACK MAGAZINE

It’s pretty obvious we love our tech around the Halfstack office. We are constantly utilizing social media and our iPhones to keep up to date on the latest happenings in Chicago and to keep up the conversation with all of you readers. To say we are always connected is an understatement. So, when the creators of findables reached out to us about one of their latest products, we were most definitely intrigued.

As avid users of social media and owners of latest must have gadget the iPhone 5s, we are always on the lookout for something that can keep us connected and of course a way to protect our phone. With findables you get the best of both worlds.

So, how does it work? Well, Every Findables case features a unique QR code and a free mobile app to personalize and share your profile. It allows you to create up to 3 different profiles and toggle between them. For the business person – connecting your linked in page is a cinch and offers a green way to share your credentials. Never feel empty handed without a card to handout. All someone has to do is scan your phone. You can also add in your social media profiles and instantly connect with friends and those around you. And, for the absent minded of us – Findables offers a “lost mode”. If someone finds your phone and scans your QR code, they’ll be able to contact you.

It’s definitely a great idea for a product, but it didn’t completely live up to the hard standards we put it through. Halfstacker Dwight had the opportunity to work with the flexwrap case for a couple weeks to try it out. While the social aspect of the phone is right on point, the durability of the case wasn’t as good as some other options he had used in the past. As someone with little ones running around the house, his phone often takes a beating. So, some may say the tests he put it through may be a little rough. Nonetheless, the case did crack a bit at the bottom near the charging dock.

So, all in all – if you’re a professional that doesn’t have kids around and is rather careful with your phone, this might be a good option for nominal protection and optimum sociability. But, if you are a parent on the go and your phone takes a beating, it might be a better option to stick to a stronger case if you are looking for protection.

It was a great opportunity to check out the findables brand. You can learn more about them here and connect with them here and here.
