A Writing Contest Brought To You By Halfstack Magazine

Looking to break into the field of writing/media/design?!  Want to work for a ‘big name’ publisher, but don’t know how to get your foot in the door?  Halfstack Magazine may be the place for you!  The latest in independent culture magazines focused on & dedicated to the local Chicago community, is looking for interns.  Put your creative writing to work and take part in our first ever - Halfstack Magazine Writing Contest

The prize?!  Interning at a rapidly growing, online magazine, based out of Chicago, Illinois.  Granted the internship is unpaid, you WILL gain valuable, hands-on experience in growing your portfolio.  In addition to sharpening your writing skills, you may also have press access to many events, including venues, concerts, restaurant openings, fashion shows, boutique openings and more (must be a minimum of 21 years of age to attend most events).  The internship can/will also be applied for school credit; and the most exciting part of all is that the winning submission(s) will be featured in one of Halfstack Magazine’s issues.

Become A Part of Our Family

Not from Chicago?  No worries…  You can still take part!

The Writing Assignment:  In 1000 words or less, within your local city, find a musician, designer boutique, brand, artist, local entrepreneur or a social changer – anyone who is on the rise because of the impact they are making and the hard work they are putting into their craft – and bring them to life with your words.  Convince Halfstack and the readers why your choice in spotlight deserves to be featured in Halfstack!

Send your submissions to jobshalfstack@gmail.com.  All submissions must be received by no later than August 31, 2013 by 11:59pm Central Time and be sure to include a brief self-bio.  A winner(s) will be announced by September 7th, 2013.
